Hey everyone. What's happening? I'm sitting here at work. I just started working at this job. I'm the night access clerk at Cary Quad on campus. It's pretty fun. I sit at a desk from 11 P.M. till 7 A.M. and watch movies and press buttons on a computer screen every so often. Cary (and most of the dorms) holds people in the building all throughout the summer for conferences and what not. For example, there are about 60 high school students from across the world staying at Cary right now for an International coding competition. Purdue calls it "Topcoder High School". It has to do with computer programming and what not. There have bunch a bunch of Polish people that have checked out throughout the night tonight. I've never met Polish people before, they seem pretty cool.
Funny story about tonight. The head R.A. was coming back to the dorm and was gonna mess around with whoever was on Night Check duty. He thought it was gonna be some R.A. that he knew...but it was me. (This is my first night, by the way.) There is a phone that connects to the main office right outside of the main doors. For deliveries or for people who forgot their card to swipe in or for whatever I guess. The phone starts ringing and I pick up and he says "Hey we're trying to rob you guys but the door is locked. Could you come let us in to help us out a bit?" and I was like...hmm...that's probably a prank...but it was still freaking me out. It is my first night and all and I was not prepared for that. So anyway, the door opens and I'm getting nervous...then this dude walks around the corner and he explained to me that he was the head R.A. or whatever and he was just playing a joke on whoever was in here because he thought it was someone else that he actually knew. In short...I was relieved that it was him and he seems like a cool guy.
Alrighty, I'm out for now. I'm getting kind of tired and I have about an hour left. I'm pretty stoked about driving home...I love how the morning looks. That sound weird? Well, I do! Laters.
Hey there everybodies. Just so you know...after you enter the title...don't press enter or it will publish your entry. Just so everyone knows. I wouldn't ever do anything like that...but...you know....
So my first year at Purdue University is offically done and over with. It was a semester of ups and downs. I moved in with Alex and things were going good. Unfortunately for me, he wasn't really feeling the whole college dorm life thing. He decided it'd be sweeter for him to live at home. Which was fine...whatevs. For some reason it kind of put me in a depressy downward spiral thing and it was not so nice. I kind of wanted to drop out of school and stuff. lawlz. Anyway...towards the end of my first semester things starting looking back up. I starting hanging out with people more instead of just sitting in my dorm room and watching movies and/or House.
Second semester Alex moved home and my friend John Renz came to move in. He's from Fort Wayne - F Town reppin'. Or something. He's a lot like me...as in we are both kind of annoyed at the same things in life and we tend to agree on a lot of things. So that was cool. I met him through Purdue Drumline (which I didn't make - wah). Things were pretty damn sweet second semester. I also did a butt ton of hanging out with the one and only Miss Lacey Davies. She roxxors my soxxors. When it was cold out we had a pretty tasy sweet TV night tradition. Monday we would watch Heroes; Tuesday was American Idol; Wednesday was American Idol again; and Thursday was The Office and Grey's. It was a pretty bitchin' setup. I'm glad I hung out with her a lot this semester. She's an awesome person and an awesome friend.
So anyway, I'm back home and ready to get awesome. I'm kind of ready to hang out with all of my old friends from last semester again. Don't get me wrong, but I was away at school and had my own friends there and was doing my own thing there. That's why I didn't hang out with all of you guys during the whole year. I was trying to get the whole college experience and what not. I'm glad I got it...and I'm definitely ready to hang and own it up this summer! I REALLY want to play some Frisbee. REALLY REALLY bad. So...ya know...do it.
Comment this entry if you still ready it! Or...not. Whatevs.
I leave you with a sweet video of my favorite drum corps: The Cavaliers! There is a weird break in the middle of the vide...and I can't figure out what was cut out. But thats okay. Watch it...and love it!
It's November. College blows. I mean, it's alright. Didn't live up to expectations I had. Maybe because for certain reasons I can't say on here in case these people somehow and read this. You can ask me what I meant. I'd tell you.
Well, I'm out for now. Xanga kinda takes a back seat to facebook and what not. Hmm. Yup. Bye.
First week of classes have been going good. I'm taking a break from some COM114 reading to write a new update and just relax for a little bit.
College life is so much different than high school life. It's crazy...no real way to explain it until you actually experience it. I enjoy it a lot though. I'm also glad I'm living on campus, it helps me stay organized and actually do my homework and shit like that.
It's so nice to have a 2-3 hour break in the day to come home, chill, and get some work done. Doing the whole 7 hour school day thing sucks, and the last thing you want to do during your time off of the day is do school work. It's not as bad in college, at least its not for me. I mean, it's more work, but I actually have energy and attention left to devote to it. So that's nice.
Hope everyone is doing well...good luck this semester!
If anyone wants to hang out, see the dorm, or whatever...drop me a line or call me or something. It'd be cool.
